Moses is Saved by an Impromptu Circumcision
The Book of Exodus features a very curious, and much-debated, passage. The passage concerns Moses and Zipporah (his wife) reaching an inn, contains four of the most difficult sentences in Biblical text. It apparently describes God trying to kill Moses, until Zipporah carries out a circumcision and smears Moses' feet with the blood from the act.
Exodus 4:24-26
4:24 And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him.
4:25 Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me.
4:26 So he let him go: then she said, A bloody husband thou art, because of the circumcision.
