Moore actually got a lenghty Q&A with Roger Smith before the film came out

While Moore depicted an evasive Roger Smith, then-Chairman of General Motors, in his breakout documentary Roger and Me, Moore actually spoke with Smith twice.[2][3] Moore had a lengthy exchange with Smith at a May 1987 GM shareholders meeting yet never included it in his piece. The filmmakers of the documentary "Manufacturing Dissent" found this shocking, as it appeared to contradict one of the central premises of Moore's film that corporate CEOs refuse to answer questions or acknowledge any wrongdoing. Moore countered that the discussion, which occurred before he commenced filming, was not recorded by him.[1][4][5] The documentary "Manufacturing Dissent" discusses the footage in depth:

Also an alleged sit-down interview

It has further been claimed that Moore conducted an interview with Smith in the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York in January 1988, which he did film, but which was also left out of the final cut.[2] It has been said that this claim appears to be contradicted by Smith himself, who said in a 1990 interview with the LA Times that "I've never stayed at the Waldorf."[7] However, Smith did not need to stay at the Waldorf in order to be interviewed there.  Moore told the Associated Press in June 2007 that if he had managed to secure an interview with Roger Smith during production, then suppressed that video, General Motors would surely have revealed this to the media, thereby discrediting his work. "I'm so used to listening to the stuff people say about me, it just becomes entertainment for me at this point," he remarked. "It's a fictional character that's been created with the name of Michael Moore."[1]

And the 'stolen satellite truck' story was fake

CNN Transcripts:

MELNYK: Well, one of the things that we found out was that, in "Roger and Me," there was a satellite truck which was apparently supposed to have been stolen. Now, what we found out was -- and this was during a town hall meeting with Ted Koppel and "Nightline." But we discovered that actually there was no meeting set up with Ted Koppel and "Nightline." That was never going to happen in Flint. And no satellite truck was ever stolen.

But, meanwhile, we see in "Roger and Me" a reporter talking about how a satellite truck was stolen in Flint. That never happened; that was fake.

BECK: And he actually did meet with Roger, right?

MELNYK: Roger Smith. He actually had around a 15-minute interview with Roger Smith at the Waldorf-Historia after their dog and pony show. And, yes, they talked.

CAINE: He also spoke with him at a GM annual shareholders meeting in Detroit, as well, and he chose not to include any of that footage in the film.

MELNYK: Now, that wasn`t an interview. That was more of a Q&A, so I suppose you could say it wasn`t an interview. [6]
